Defence Minister Mrs. Olta Xhaçka on official visit in Germany

Albanian Defence Minister, Mrs. Olta Xhacka is on an official visit in Berlin.

She will be welcomed at a special meeting by Defence Minister of Germany, Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen.

The focus of the discussion is expected to be the relationship between the two countries in the field of defense and security, as well as the current situation in Albania.

Albania is expecting the Council's decision by EU Ministers to open the negotiations.

Voluntary contributions to help residents affected by the earthquake

Ministry of Defense through the General Directorate of Civil Emergencies makes available three bank account number to support all families affected by the recent earthquake in the Korça district.
Voluntary contributions from businesses, associations and individuals for supporting the affected population can be deposited in the following bank accounts:

Coastal shooting drills by Naval Force ships

Naval Forces ships and their crew tested their ability to protect themselves against threats that might come from the ground.
For two days, seven ship out of the Albanian Naval Force and about 110 members of their respective crew, held military maneuvers in the Bay of Vlora, Sazan Island and west of the peninsula.

Minister Xhaçka visits the affected area by the Earthquake in Korça: We will restore every house

Every house collapsed or damaged by earthquake vibrations of June, the 1st and June, the 2nd in the Korça district will be reconstructed or rebuilt. This was the commitment of the Defence Minister Mrs. Olta Xhaçka, who accompanied by the Mayor of Korça Municipality Mr. Sotiraq Filo and the Member of Parliament Mr. Niko Peleshi, visited the Floq village, which was the epicenter of the earthquake that occurred three days ago.

Minister Xhaçka saw in firsthand the destroyed and damaged houses in that village and visited the places where the affected residents are accommodated.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg visited Tirana

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg visited Tirana on Sunday (2 June 2019) for talks with Albania’s leadership.

Secretary Stoltenberg was welcomed by Defense Minister, Mrs. Olta Xhaçka, at the International Airport "Mother Teresa", where they also held a brief meeting during which they discussed the situation in the country.
