Minister Xhacka in France for the modernization of the Armed Forces

Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka met with France's Armed Forces Minister, Florence Parly. The Minister of Defense was invited by her French counterpart to attend the "Eurosatory 2018", the international exhibition of protection and land and air security.

At the exhibition which is held every two years, representatives of military industries from around 140 countries participate in the bidding and gather requests for services provided in the field of defense. Ministres Xhaçka and Parly reconfirmed the very good relationship between Albania and France , particularly in the field of defense in which the two countries have been cooperating for years.

The French company "Nexter" that has equipped with 20mm cannons the Albanian ship Butrinti, which participates in the NATO operation in the Aegean Sea, is currently working to equip with this type of armament the other ships of the Albanian Naval Force.

Minister Xhaçka expressed the interest of the Albanian Armed Forces to cooperate with the French Armed Forces in the field of civil emergencies.

At the Eurosatory exhibition, Minister Xhaçka visited the stalls and held meetings with representatives of prestigious companies in the field of military industry such as Locked Martin, Nexter and Thales.
