Minister Xhaçka visits the affected area by the Earthquake in Korça: We will restore every house

Every house collapsed or damaged by earthquake vibrations of June, the 1st and June, the 2nd in the Korça district will be reconstructed or rebuilt. This was the commitment of the Defence Minister Mrs. Olta Xhaçka, who accompanied by the Mayor of Korça Municipality Mr. Sotiraq Filo and the Member of Parliament Mr. Niko Peleshi, visited the Floq village, which was the epicenter of the earthquake that occurred three days ago.

Minister Xhaçka saw in firsthand the destroyed and damaged houses in that village and visited the places where the affected residents are accommodated.

Minister Xhaçka discussed with the residents about their problems and assured them on behalf of the Government that any devastated dwelling will be reconstructed and each family will be reimbursed for the repair of their damaged house.

All actors from the central government to the local government, the Member of Parliament that represent the zone, as well as many foundations and networks of volunteers, in fact they are together in this effort to be close to these people in these first difficult days. Of course we will continue to support them and stay close to them until they fully recover and return to their homes. It's a difficult situation, but fortunately we didn’t have any human loss or injury, and these is good news.
In the following days in cooperation with everyone we will improve the housing conditions of these residents and take measures to cover all the shortcomings we have. Actually I have to make a commitment on behalf of the government and the Prime Minister who is coming tomorrow itself, here to visit the residents and other damaged areas, that we will reconstruct every house that has collapsed and compensate every damaged dwelling, in order to restore normality one hour earlier in these communities", - said Minister Xhaçka.

Earlier, Xhaçka participated in the meeting of the Civil Emergency Staff in the Korça District.

There are in total 95 residences totally destroyed and 212 dwellings with minor injuries.
